Time to brag!

Asylum I know nothing about swimming so bear with me. Does you son have to train differently on a 25 yard pool compared to a 50 yard? What length will the pool be in college? BTW, great video. I found myself cheering him on.

It really doesn't matter all that much whether you train in a 25 yard pool or a 50 meter pool. It all depends on the practice facility. NCAA competitions are based upon the Short Course, or 25 Yard pools, since all pools can be easily converted from a 50 meter to a 25 yard one with temporary bulkheads. International competition takes place in a 50 meter pool, or Long Course. The difference for the swimmers beyond a slightly different distance is the far greater number of turns in the shorter pool. Short Course seasons are usually during the Fall and Winter when indoor facilities are the norm. Long Course begins in the Spring and continues through the Summer and utilizes both Olympic sized indoor and outdoor pools.
