"A British man almost died on Christmas Day after suffering a severe allergic reaction to spray-on deodorant Lynx Fever that caused his throat to close."

It's blocked for me.

Scarry stuff. And I just thought the artificial, pore-clogging chemicales they put in standard deoderants were bad enough on their own!

That's why I use this: Crystal Body Deodorant Stick for Men

I love it. It really works. Just dampen your pits with water prior to using it, and by the end of the day there is still no smell. (It is not an antiperspirant so you still sweat, but even that does not smell. If you have some type of serious medical condition that makes you sweat a lot, it may not be for you.)

And it really does last for over a year!

The real 'scare' is many people do not know they have a severe allergy to something until they experience it for the first time. Anaphylatic shock can occur from bee stings to peanuts and more.

Allergies can be terrifying things. There is also the potential for a reaction to 'build up' and only become evident after repeated exposures. Seafood can be like that.

Very true. A buddy of mine was testing foods for his wedding reception, and ate something with pine nuts on it without knowing he was allergic to them. On the way home, his throat got really scratchy, and he broke out. Within a minute or two of that, his lips and throat started swelling, and his lips were turning colors. By the time he made it to the hospital, he almost couldnt breathe. He now has to carry a shot around with him in case it happens again.

Which is how I discovered that I had an allergic reaction to sulfa.

One of my sons can eat any seafood but scallops. The other odd thing is apples are fine and cause no problems but his throat tightens if he eats the peel.

Friends carry an Epi (epinephrine) pen for their daughter in case they miss peanut products in foods. They say she wouldn't make it to the hospital in time.

Allergic reations can be ugly.
