Thiers Issard Fans - What is next?

Thiers Issard has issued a series of limited number collector razors such as the Oak Wing G, Le Grelot Crown Wing, Silverwing, and Celebrated Silverwing. These have sold fairly well and are, for the most part, now only available on the secondary market. What do Thiers Issard fans think will be the next limited edition and when will it be issued?

I don't know what is next. But I would love to find a place that actually has some TI in stock. The only place that I seem to find any are the AoS re-brands. I would love to find some nice wood or the stainless steel scales to fill a 2 razor box that my GF was nice enough to get for me... she probably didnt realize that my OCD wouldnt allow me to store my straights in it because they weren't Thiers-Issard with that name on the box :)

Don't know what's around locally but if you can't find a TI in the US, try Invisible Edge in UK or Raspur in Germany. Both reputable vendors. There's a French vendor called Art and Knives, I've purchased from too.

If you want to order from our side of the pond they have some interesting Thiers Issards in stock here. I'll be really interested to see if TI bring out anymore limited editions!

Disclaimer - I've not ordered from the website yet!

Thanks for the link. The challenge is a potentially much higher price when our customs people take a pound of flesh in duties and then taxes. Some real nice TI on line on your side that doesn't seem to ever show up here. For the right piece...

I've purchased from 1barber.be and can confidently recommend them, however I purchased the majority of my TI straights from rasurpur.de and here are some of them...

Hello Ben

Well I need a TI's Straight suggestion...
For first have to say that I'm a TI lover and Spartacus models are my favorites but I'm a beginner and dont undesrtand nothing about wich blade would be better to me. Stainless, carbon or C135? Half Hollow or full?

I want a 5/8 or a 6/8 but my opinion is that 5/8 would be better... and Dreadnought is the most beatiful point but really dont know if is the best option to a beginner???

Last year I bought:
Dovo Flowing 6/8 shave ready... and more these products:
Silicone-Treated Cotton Razor Sleeve
Dovo Red/Black Paste Set
Dovo White & Yellow Pastes
Boker Russian Leather Paddle Strop
Dovo 193-45002 Linen/Russian Leather Strop
Dovo #1186810 'Flowing' Razor Sample #3
* I just sold the Straight and all the rest i have kept.

I remeber that after 3 shaves I sold it because never shaved very well. Now I know that shave ready is not so so so ready and maybe if I use the hone and strop to sharp the blade maybe I would can had a better shave and the blade more sharper but every time I needed to return the blade in the same place in my face because I still found beard on that place...

From all these product I just sold the Dovo Straight. What products do you think I can keep to myself and which one I can sell to buy a better product?

I have contact a seller and he told me that TI is sharper than Dovo:
"Thiers Issard razors come from the manufacturer much sharper than the Dovo razors do. They are known as "singing hollow" because when you flick the blade, it makes a humming sound because it's so flexible. (you will still need to strop with every use). I don't recommend you honing your own straight razor - especially if you get
that Thiers Issard one, it will definitely be sharp enough. You don't need any paste for your strop at the beginning".

Please feel free to give your opinions and suggestion.
Thanks
Sam
