What's this I see above? Christmas music? Next Sunday I'll be heading to Charlotte to take my daughter to see the Petersens Christmas show at the lovely Knight Theater. This will be three years running, I am thrilled. It's practically a tradition at this point.

If you have never had the pleasure of hearing the Petersens, here is a link to their 2020 Christmas show on youtube. For my money they are one of the best bands currently playing.

I love the Petersens. I had no idea they were coming to Charlotte. That will be a great time! Have fun! they are fantastic, I have been following them for a few years now.

I function much better behind the audio controls myself. No singing nor playing instrument for me. If I do my job right nobody will notice me.

I was just watching the show from the link that you posted and they said that they are going to be in Wilson, NC in 2025, but I do not see a date on their website. That would be even closer for us. I do not think that would be a Christmas show though.

Years ago, one of our daughters was out of wax. She asked if I had something she could use in its place. Yep. Gaffer's Tape which I had in colors and in bulk for my race cars at-the-track body repairs (fiberglass, so easily fixed good as new with the tape).

Gaffer's Tape is used by photographers and far superior to duct tape. Extra sticky, and doesn't leave residue.

She stole a roll and gave up the wax....

Which is where I got the idea from!

Being a sound guy I have used plenty of gaffer tape in my days. Gaffer tape is awesome tape and I always hated when someone used duct tape to tape down cables that didn't know any better. I have cleaned many cables with duct tape adhesive residue. It is not a fun job.

Still lurking about gents, although not with the frequency I perhaps normally would. The holidays are hitting me a lot harder than I expected, or perhaps allowed myself to think they would. It has not, however, diminished my love of wet shaving.
That said, things like good health, grandchildren and a great family/friends/church/community support system do help immensely. Good day all!

Even though I crashed out of this restraint early and even purchased one more razor ($27 PAA Monster) I still spent less than $125 this year on shaving products which is a major improvement. I honestly cannot see myself needing anything more for at least a year. I still am using the alum block I thought I would need to replace as my exception in 2024 but it still has another year of use I estimate, and it is already two years old.

Anyway, good job to those of you who have made it this far, it is truly an exercise in self-restraint. See ya'all next year!

I told my LOTH I enrolled myself in the 2025 restraint. And she fully agreed. She said it’s ok to fail, but being in a challenge like this does surely make you spend much less!
