The shaving process during deer season?

Do any of you guys deer hunt??

Those of you that do, what shaving process do you implement during this glorious time of the year??

If it were up to me, I would just go chuck norris style and say screw shaving (feather blades don't even cut his whiskers) but unfortunately, since I am a deputy sheriff, I have to stay clean shaven in, and out of season, keeping my professional appearance at all times. So not shaving is out of the question. I have tried TOBS sensitive skin, scentless cream but I still detect the smell of something.... I just want to minimize putting scent on me for the sake of not spooking any game. However; I don't want to shave using just water, lol.

Maybe I can get mama bear's to make a shaving soap that smells like acorns. Or dirt. Or a salt lick

What do you guys do ??

I shave at night before bed. The scent is usually gone by the next morning.

A shaving soap that smells like the super rich dirt and decomposing leaves that cover the ground around here would be great!

You could also wash your face with the scent-a-way bar soap before going out too if you think it would make that much difference.

I would be worried about laundry soap and shampoo more than shaving soap.

I bury my bibs and jackets and boots in dirt for about 3 months prior to hunting. I find that this works well...haha jk

I have the scent-away detergent. It's effectiveness is very questionable though.

i do find that the scent-away body and hair soap works pretty decent...

I could use my shavemac and try to get some good lather out of that
scent-away body soap...... who knows, I may be onto something.

This is seriously THE reason I only got my dad a SE razor and no brush/soap. I know he wouldn't use it during hunting season. Maybe get a lightly scented soap (Tabac maybe?), grate it, and let it sit out for a few days/weeks to totally get rid of the smell?

Or if not Tabac, then Arko.

LOL, this is the first (and most likely last) time I've ever seen Tabac and Arko, two of the most pungent soaps on the market, being called "lightly scented"

Was that a joke and I just had a blonde moment? :001_huh:

No kidding. I can see any self-respecting deer fleeing rapidly from the 2-3 square miles that the Tabac stench would permeate.

Cella seems to have a very light scent that does not hang around.

Shave the night before with something light. Out of my rotation I'd pick Provence Sante green tea, MWF or VDH.

Then proceed with your usual scent elimination routine in the morning before you hit the field.

MWF is usually said to be light scented, and I don't smell it after about 10 minutes.
Get mama bear to put deer pheremones in it XD

Just get some doe-in-heat masking scent.... after you shave, slap it on as AS!!! Seriously!!!

Does glycerin have a smell?? Maybe there is a way to formulate a doe-in-heat masking scent with some skin-friendly ingredients and have a nice little aftershave concoction.

Tinks 69

I shave the night before and have a shower before hunting deer.

Bury your hunting clothes for three months? Hardcore.

AOS unscented shave soap. I shave the night before or not at all.

This guy did not fall to ARKO. :tongue_sm

Definite blonde moment! :w00t: Arko actually doesn't stick around too long. Tabac does though! Couldn't you just wipe your face down with rubbing alcohol and let it dry? Wouldn't that get rid of most if not all the scent?
