The Men's Soap Shop

I found this at one of my local stores. It was marked up about an extra 10 dollars from what it sells on the product website, but that doesn't bother me too much since I Was supporting our local economy. Too many of our local downtown shops are closing. Anyway, I can't get a good lather from it and the lather dissipates quickly. Anyone else try it and have similar experiences?

I didn't try the aftershave balm but I like the way it is packaged and marketed (it is in a stainless steal flask).

Haven't used it or heard of it. Their website doesn't give the ingredient list but it gives the oils used. Olive oil listed as the second ingredient is a bad sign ( assuming they are listed in order of amount, like ingredient lists are supposed to be). Soaps with a significant amount of olive oil usually don't produce very good lather for shaving. Yet another example of the soap makers line of thought that goes " a good body soap plus clays for slickness will be a good shaving soap". Not generally true.

I had the same experience - hard to get a lather - and what I got was runny and didn't last. Col. Conk's was the exact opposite. Love that soap.

Perhaps they've reformulated, but the oils I see listed now in their product are: palm, cocoa butter, castor, shea butter, and jojoba. There's also mention in the intro of almond oil and beeswax.

I've seen their wares in one of my local shops, and they sure do smell good. I am liable to give one a try at some point.

Some of their other products, notably the aftershaves, also look good. Handsome flasks.

I liked what I saw of the brush as well.
