TGN Finest 22mm vs 20mm - How Big A Difference?

I got some more handles enroute for some restorations and wanted to get peoples opinions on the size of knots. I've mostly used the 22mm Finest knots but was now thinking of using 20mm knots in this next batch of restorations. For those of you that have used both sizes, have you noticed any differences between the two? If there isn't, I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks.

I have a handmade brush with a 20mm knot I use for travel and it sure gets the job done. I have another with a 22mm knot and it also gets the job done. I would say the difference is a feeling of luxury with the bigger knot. And you make more lather, obviously. I also have a 24mm TGN Silvertip and I pull that out on special occasions when I want REAL luxury. But the 22mm in my go-to brush for creams.

I think shape matters as much as size. You can easily drop down a size and switch to a fan to get a similar face feel size.

I have a 24mm Finest and that feels very luxurious. It's almost too big a brush I think, Which is why I went down to 22mm knots for my previous batch of restorations.

I was thinking of going to the fan shape for the 20mm knots, more to change it up a bit. The recent restorations I did were all with 22mm bulb knots.

I have a 20mm fan, 24mm fan and 22mm bulb all in finest from tgn. They actually all feel pretty good in size, and I actually find my 20mm fan feels bigger than my 22mm bulb because it is mounted with a lot higher loft and because fans just tend to feel bigger. I have many 24mm+ brushes and the 20mm tgn finest feels plenty decent to me.

I find that I like the 20mm about the same as 22mm both in bulb shape. But I tend to like smaller brushes no bigger than 22mm really. Its all a matter of preference.

I just checked and it looks like TGN is out of 20mm finest in bulb so you may have to go with fan or wait.
