Target Clearing Out Non-Cart Shave Gear?

Just stopped in to my local Target for shampoo and as long as I was there thought I'd pick up a spare puck of the VDH Luxury Shave Soap.
All the VDH soap was gone with a big red clearance sticker on the shelf over the price, pretty much all the Shea shave products and the VDH badger brushes and Shea Ultimate Shave brushes were also on clearance.
About the only "classic" shaving item not on clearance was the one remaining VDH mug/brush/soap kit.
Hopefully this means that Target is going to clear out some of the remaining stock in order to stock some other high end shave stuff

I never saw any VDH stuff at my Target, but now that you mention it, the Shea brush I bought yesterday was on clearance. I didn't notice if anything else was on clearance. I was just looking for the brush.

The target around here is just too far for me to go to it so I have no idea what they have, used to have, or will get. I doubt that I will ever set foot in the store.

I was at Target a couple times last week. none of the VDH was reduced but the Every Man Jack line was all clearance.

I was in one last week and they had NIEVA sensitive after shave BALM on sale for $4.70. A great price. That is if you like NIEVA products.

I stopped in at the Target in Issaquah, WA a few days back and they had all their VdH on clearance. Just one lonely soap puck and several brushes remaining.

There's only one Target in my area that had any VDH stuff, and it's all on clearance. It started with the Luxury Unscented a few months ago (which I cleaned out). There was just one Luxury set and one badger brush left the last time I was there. My guess is this stuff just didn't sell well and they're moving away from it. I think a lot of the Everyman Jack stuff was going or gone as well. Here in Nebraska I don't think there's a very big market for this kind of thing.

I can say I have never seen VDH in Target, I have seen it on occasion in Wallyworld. It's too bad, because I prefer Target way over Wmart, and would love to see them stock a little more selection of DE razors. But I suppose as stated above, the masses are to engaged in the multi-blades, and thats what sells for them.

I stopped in the local Bed, Bath, and Beyond to pick up a pizza peel and saw that VDH, SShea, and the other stuff they carry is till there. My local Target? It's all still there as well.

Picked up some VDH on clearance there last weekend. Looks to me like they're moving away from the B&B crowd and focusing on the overpriced loofa crowd.

Not only did I notice the VDH and Every Man Jack stuff on clearance.I noticed Mach 3s and Fusions on sale as well.Sometimes I use cartridges so I picked up a Mach 3 Turbo handle including an extra replacement cartridge for $4.00 and they had leftover Fusion holiday gift sets that includes shave gel,a small tube of face scrub ,and a small tube of cooling lotion for $3 so I picked up 2 of those.I have no clue what's going on with the Mach 3s.But both Wal-Mart and Target are replacing the handles with the Custom Plus 3 and the green Mach 3 Power Sensitive .

Oddly enough the EMJ line was not on clearance save for the EMJ regular unscented shave cream (but not the sensitive skin) and the travel size EMJ cedarwood scented shower gel.
Since I'd heard Target had a go at stocking Proraso products prior to my entry into DE shaving and that the higher end VDH stuff has been stocked for almost a year now I'm kind of hoping for clearing out to make way for some thing else or maybe a return of Proraso.

That's disappointing because the unscented EMJ lotion was my go to lotion. That sucks I'll have to order it now. This is why I do not like commiting to one product because it could end up being pulled or discontinued.Like when they reformulated the Proraso AS splash. The new one is great, but the older formula was much better.=\

Same situation at my target. All VDH on clearance and gone except for the mug set. They also no longer list any VDH products on their website.

I love the luxury soap and a huge plus was being able to pick it up locally.

That's interesting, my local target no longer carries VDH products but there is still a large supply of the Shea Moisture products. I really like the Shea AS.

Not sure about Target, but I stopped into Walgreens today for a puck of VDH Luxury, and everything was gone, all the spots were there, but only a couple of the badger brushes remained.

Got an update on the Target in my area at least.
As of last Saturday it looks like Target has replaced the traditional shave gear shelf space with high end men's colognes and all the new Dove stuff.
Looks like P&G figures if they can knock out more traditional shave gear from the big box stores we'll toss our DE's and return to the carts.
Guess we must be starting to give them a bit of pain in the bottom line.

I've seen something similar at the Target stores by my home and work. They decreased their VDH and Shea stock and are now stocking colognes. What a waist.

You can still get VDH or Shea products at drugstore.com.
