Tabac noob

After reading some input on what folks think of Tabac, I decided to give it a whirl and see for myself. It definitely has a strong scent, but produces very good lather. Very good shave. After rinsing and pat drying my face, I splashed on a little Clubman. Gotta say, I dig it. Feel and smell like a man should. Definitely the old school barber shop smell.

Welcome to Badger & Blade!

Yes, Tabac is definitely a high quality soap. Glaf you're enjoying it, you'll find some hardcore Tabac fans around here.

I also just tried out Tabac for the first time. I'm not crazy about the smell, but boy oh boy does it lather! Shave's like a beast too. Good stuff, and the smell is starting to grow on me. Very old school.

Tabac was my first soap too, easy to leather, great scent (unfortunately not for the summer) and it softens the beard very well. Only the skin care could be a little bit better.

Good on the Clubman...that is a great old school scent that should overpower the slight linger of the repulsive Tabac stench well.

Repulsive stench?! Blasphemy!! I've got the soap, cream, aftershave, & cologne... I'd bathe in it if I could! This & Williams!

Look out for the "Tabac smells like doody" weirdos. They run amok on this site. Seriously, I enjoy the smell of Tabac. Hard to surpass the performance imo. Of course, with scents, YMMV.

Scent isn't as bad as some make it out to be, but it's a definite minus in my book. It's too powdery for me.

But performance... well... it's tabac. It holds its own with the best vintage soaps I've tried.

Hrmm..

another tabac soap threat .. err thread! I would really love to try it but reading people's reactions about the smell just leads me to another direction. I have a very sensitive and heightened sense of smell so I would be a bit nervous if I was to try it.

Don't let your local exterminator near you....he will want to hire you to hang out under people's houses as a no-spray pest killer. Probably a half-hour would do it under even the most infested places.:001_tongu

Well you really probably should at least try it....you would likely only gag and choke for an hour or so, I don't think it is deadly to humans...then you could PIF it to those with no sense of smell.

My woman likes the smell of Tabac so much she shaves her own legs with it... and recommended (upon discovering it at a local German deli) that I try the cologne.

Also, while I love the scent of Clubman.. I'd never hit my face with it right after a shave. (that can't be good for your skin!)

I'd go with a shot of balm or witch hazel on your face, then drop the clubman on your chest or neck or something to get the scent rockin.

Boy oh boy first LV now Tabac I just don't know what to think about you
