I just aquired my first Super Adjustable--a long handled Black Beauty with an O2 date code.(1969) That's the year I graduated from high school, by the way. I already own and regularly use 4 Fatboys and 4 slims, but I've been hankerin' for a Super for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger. I wasn't expecting much, because when I bought it off the BST the pics were not very good and the razor looked dirty and corroded. Upon receiving it, though, I simply soaked it in some dishwashing liquid and went after it for just a few minutes with a toothbrush. To my surprise it cleaned up very nicely and shows very little wear. I'm going to polish it sometime this weekend. Well, I had to give it a spin, you know, so this morning I went through my normal routine, popped in an Astra SP, and gave it a whirl. Its performance was smooth as can be. I really like the balance of the long handle. It glided across my face, and I got a no-issue BBS with three passes. At the same settings as a Fatboy/slim, it seems to be noticably milder. I know the Wiki shows it's measurements of blade gap to be just a bit less than the Fatboy, but it appears to make a difference of a full number, or even a number and a half. That's really no problem though...just dial it up a bit. All in all, I really like this razor. It's smooth, shaves great, no problem in tight places like around the nose, and gave me a great BBS with three passes. I am most impressed with the balance and feel in the hand, making this razor a real joy to use.
