Strop vs. Hones for the inexperienced fella

I made the straight plunge about three weeks ago with some pieces I purchased off the B/S/T (a TM hanging strop, a Wapi and 5/8 full hollow that have been honed by Utopian). I have had a few decent shaves having only cut myself lightly twice.

I am concerned that my poor technique with the hanging strop early on may have dulled my razors a little bit. I know that I will eventually acquire hones and learn how to use them, but would a pasted strop from Tony Miller be a good place to start as far as edge maintenance is concerned?

If you have read down this far, sorry for the long winded lead-up to a simple question and thanks for bearing with me.

And there you have it from two experienced guys.

To help 'maintain' the edge, a paddle strop will do it. (Remember less is more)
But if you've stuffed the edge, which if its still shaving well it probebly hasnt, you will have to go to hones.

IME, short of digging right into the strop, any damage you do while stropping can be repaired through correct stropping.

Aside from possibly stropping incorrectly, I inadvertently placed the edge of my wapi in contact with the top of my thumb nail at near perpendicular.

I have just got a couple of new finds off of ebay and would like to have someone hone them I live in dallas texas. I have not got a hone of my own and know that I will need to. Can someone help me.
