What's new

stopped by Crabree and Evelyn over lunch

I picked up another bottle of Sienna after shave balm and got talking to one of the girls working the store. I told her I was disappointed when Sienna Shave Soap got discontinued. Her reply was, Sienna shave soap is going to be re-introduced sometime in July with re-fills maybe being re-introduced as well.

For the record the sales girl finds CE head office to be less than forthcoming with product information and it drives her nuts sometimes.

What is the difference between Sienna SS and Nomad (the Nomad did not really suit me, scent-wise)?

the only thing that's different is the scent.

i've called the crabtree and evelyn folks a few times and i always i get a different answer. oh well it makes it fun to stop in anyways.

As I have mentioned the sales people at the location I shopped at found their head office are less than communicative. At store level they know there is a huge following of CE's shaving soap lines.

Well, now that I've figured out how to get a good shave form it (face lathering), I'm glad it may be coming back. I wonder if the creams in a tube (please, SAO, please) will also be making a comeback?

C&E corporate can be a frustrating bunch. :001_rolle

That's good news. I love the scent, but I got a sample of the Sienna SC, and it kind of burned my face. I have no such problems with the Sandalwood or Nomad soaps. I'd love to get a puck of the Sienna soap too.

Also heard from my local CE store that many items would be back soon, around July. There's a conspiracy a brew'n!

I'll add a thought to the conspiracy mix:

I wonder if they are changing soap/cream manufacturers (moving back to Creightons, perhaps?), and just needed to clear out old stock (several months ago) before they brought the new stuff on line?

Hmmm? HMMMMM? :w00t:

For what it is worh, the Sienna soap burns my face even more than the Sienna cream. You may want to try the Sandalwood soap. Burns much less than Sienna. SAO soap is the best, no burn at all.

This past weekend, I stopped in the C&E store in Durham, NC, and they had plenty of Sienna and Nomad cream in the glass jars. no soaps or creams in tubes. The saleswoman said they still get shipments of the creams in the jars.

I called C&E in Sydney and they confirmed Sienna, Nomad and Sandalwood are back in stock!

The SAO wont be coming back (pity, considering it is their best soap!)

I saw Nomad and Sienna in the jars on the shelf in my parts but they are now plastic instead of glass.

I feel sorry for the staff sometimes because they have eager customers like us and a head office that won't give them timely information on products and they are stuck in the middle.

Plastic vs glass and recent trends in EO prices would lead me to believe that C&E has done a reformulation to try and cut custs.
