I don't have a Tech. So far I have been of the mind that less passes with a more aggressive razor would equal less chance of irritation for my poor old mug; it has been working pretty well for me but now I want to explore the other school of thought, that more passes with a gentle razor will get me to the same finish line.
My understanding is the Tech is THE classic gentle razor. I bought a vintage "Star" DE today off the bay that sure looks like a Tech clone to me, at least in the head. Could have got a Tech for the same money or probably a little less but that Star just called to me.
Is the Star DE fairly Tech-like, in terms of aggression? Will it be a good representation of how a Tech will shave?
