Speick in a mug

Purchased some Speick shave sticks recently. Milled it into a mug from "Dirty Bird" pottery. Well after using it for a few times I can see why folks rave about it. Reminds me a lot of Tabac without the strong scent. Great lather that is thick and slick. If you like the performance of Tabac but hate the scent I would like to suggest Speick. IMHO it is on the same level or near the performance of Tabac. Speick is now in my soap rotation.

I totally agree, David.

I also found Speick to be at the level of Tabac in terms of lather quality and without the super strong and [for me] irritating scent (I actually love the Tabac scent but it literally irritates my throat!!).

Speick has been in my rotation for 3 years now and isn't going anywhere. I grate up a stick into a small metal container as I don't like sticks. It loads fast and builds a thick, slick and delicious smelling lather!

Speick in a bowl is as good as it gets for me. I think a lot of folks rank its performance behind Tabac because the stick form is a bit harder to load heavily.

There are some great soaps out there in stick form that you can't get any other way.... and this is one of them. I have to admit that I'm one who would probably use Speick soap more if it was in a puck in a bowl. Great move milling it down into a mug. :thumbup1:

If you told me that all I could use for the rest of my days were soaps that were only available in sticks, I wouldn't even be mad.

Speick, La Toja, Palmolive, Arko, LEA, Wilkinson. Some of the best soaps, period, are sticks.

I've milled La Toja and liked it a lot. Also milled a stick of Palmolive which I try soon. With this in mind I don't know why these companies don't sell these great soaps as pucks.

I also love the speick stick milled into a bowl. I thought I was going to keep it as my travel soap but I keep pulling it out at home--I guess I don't travel enough.

I find La Toja, Palmolive and Speick to be the equals of Tabac. I haven't milled La Toja because its softer and I don't mind using it in stick form. My Speick and Palmolive sticks are in bowls now and I get too much lather from them. I like the scent of Tabac (sometimes wish it wasn't quite so strongly scented) but if I didn't I would be happy using these other affordable options.

Speick milled/grated into a bowl is awesome. Misspelling the name and posting evidence that you are a moron is even more awesome.

Is that two sticks in that container?

I grate one at a time as I find the Speick scent changes considerably when it soaks up water. At one stage, I even thought of just milling half a stick into the container as I wasn't enjoying the scent after it had changed but I milled the whole stick and will see how it goes.
