Second day of straight razor shaving.
Better execution but stropping needs a lot of work. I’ve ordered a proper strop, my homemade one isn’t going to do it.

Leather, leather...LEATHER! I do believe that there is no more manly a scent than leather except of course motor oil and Hoppe’s No. 9! Today I decided to grab the stuff I picked up with KJ. The Colonial General has been well documented but the other goodies have sat waiting. The razor today the Gillette Rocket HD 500 so good and so smooth a shaver. Fresh Personna Platinum loaded.
Artisan Soaps Leather is so good a scent! More than that! It is a great soap! So good all around! The Simpson Special has no issues working it up to a phenomenal lather.
Beautiful two pass BBS shave! Topped it off with some English Leather AS and Guerlain Derby...man, I love leather and so does Mrs S! Happy Saturday!

Another first, this time with the Dart. I was admittedly daunted by reports of it being deceptively aggressive, and by the blade angle once assembled. The blade almost sticks straight out, so I envisioned having to use a really shallow angle and ride the cap to avoid an overly assertive razor experience. The first pass was one of the most aggressive I've felt in a long time. The Voskhod did OK, but even with what I feel is a milder blade, there was a ton of blade feel and I was instantly not liking it. First pass done, and I said screw it and approached from the bar instead for the second; I had nothing to lose. I don't know if it's because the amount of hair had already been reduced, but riding the bar produced a MUCH smoother and more enjoyable experience. The next time I use the Dart I will definitely approach the first pass from the bar and see how that does. A sharper blade might also do better shaving at a steeper angle too, so that could be an option as well if the Voskhod fails me. In the end though, I had a ridiculously close, glass-smooth shave without any real irritation, and ultimately I actually enjoyed the razor because of that second pass. I look forward to fine tuning my experience with it this week.

Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.
Greetings,
A relaxing early sunday morning shave....The J.D. B30 is another chinese super-speed clone that was kindly passed on to me which is another razor i haven't used much like the Baili BD177 i used in my SOTD yesterday has a good weight & balance to it, the moving "TTO parts/doors" are all in smooth working order with no uneven blade alignment or aggression gap difference, another non-aggressive razor that would make a good daily shaver.
A enjoyable 3 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.
Finishing the shave off with a generous dollop of Creightons ~ Sensitive Post Shave Balm.
My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling devine.
