Wednesday’s SOTD - A cautious DFS shave today!

So today I shaved again and hence had to be little cautious while shaving as the shaved skin was just about healed post yesterday‘s 2 pass DFS. To ensure less of razor burn on skin during the 3 passes today I worked with all known products which have been used umpteen times in past. Especially the shaving cream as needed extra cushioning while gliding my razor! So how was the shave today? Well it is a DFS if not a BBS with little feedback on skin! However the highlight was no redness or nicks or cuts today!

Pre shave - Forest Essentials Sandalwood & Orange Peel Pre Shave Oil
Shaving cream - Forest Essentials Sandalwood & Orange Peel Shaving Cream
Lathering Bowl - Supply marble lathering bowl
Brush - Trigodon 23 mm tuxedo knot synthetic
Razor - Edwin Jagger ivory finish DE89
Blade - Gillette 7 o’ clock super Platinum (black one on 2nd use)
Aftershave - Alum block followed by Pink Woolf Oudh & Sandalwood cooling post shave balm

I would like to talk a bit about the shaving brush used today. This one is the most favourite one I possess as the dense tuxedo knot is super soft on skin yet has a firm backbone to retain water and create voluminous lather on both face and bowl lathering. Use it anyways and apply on face in any direction yet be sure you will still get a great lather with very uniform splay which many brushes lack! The brush is also low on maintenance and dries extremely quick. This is the brush I prefer to use when I need that extra cushioning on face and the most reliable one during my travel!

The products of Forest Essentials are widely known and famous for being completely organic and chemical free. One of the most luxurious organic products that ensures smooth razor glide and makes the stubble and skin very soft during and after the shave!

The closing statement of today’s shaving ritual was aptly made with application of the aftershave balm which has a heavenly aroma of sandalwood and Oudh that goes well with the shaving cream and lingers long post shaving.

My skin feels soft and smells awesome! Happy that I was able to get a nick free DFS on the 2nd consecutive day of shaving!

Next shave is on Friday morning. Till then thank you and wishing all a very happy and relaxing shaving ritual every time 🙏🏽😊

Wednesday, 8/5 (no pic):

Razor - Muhle Rocca
Blade - Astra SP
Brush - Craving Shaving "Woodstock" 26mm Duro
Cream - OneBlade
A/S - OneBlade

We lost power due to the tropical storm hitting the Northeast US, so I had to keep it simple today. Despite shaving by lantern half-light, the cream gave me a terrific thick lather, the brush just confirmed that the Duro knot is still one of my top synths, and the razor glided easily with plentiful slickness. Ended up with a pretty great shave, all things considered.
