an absolutely wonderful shave to kick off my Xmas.. I haven't used the Eventide or the Astra in quite a while, and I'd actually forgotten how flawless their performance is. The Eventide is in the Glissant base, if my memory serves me well, and performed even better than I remember, and the Astra makes me wonder why I stopped using it for so long.. Merry Xmas everyone.

SE SOTD, Saturday, December 24th 2022

Razor : Valet Auto-strop C1 type, Canadian variant- Mfg 1920's, mid to upper mid range, well built and Valet used a simple system of holding the blades in the base plate. I modified the gap from .011 to .006-.007 or 7/1000 of a inch to tame it down a little. It takes good technique & will produce some excellent shaves. Had a great shave this morning with no drama.
Blade : Modified Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scent of lavender with some of the best lather qualities I have used(discontinued)On 3rd tub so far.
Brush : Yaqi "Panda bear" 24mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= Great shave this morning with my 1920's C1 Valet auto-strop with a modified coated Gem blade.

Today's shave was a great shave. I used a vintage razor I rarely use with some wonderful smelling Smoking Bishop from Barrister & Mann. I can't tell you how good this stuff smells. Though I'll admit I am biased because of my long-time love for grape.

All in all, I had a great shave and was very happy with the bbs shave I earned.

The fantastic aroma from the soap, filled up the bathroom even though it was just a sample puck...amplified by the matching splash. The lather whip-up by the awesome soft boar brush is perfectly creamy and slick!
Today's shave with this razor feels buttery smooth after combining LaLune + 0.1um balsa. The edge felt even better in 3 excellent passes for a bbs-ccs finish...

Christmas Day Greetings,

As on all Christmas day's since i was a kid, i have always been a early riser due to the festive excitement, now it's my ageing body clock that awakes me.

To be totally honest unlike most people I assume, I don't do Christmas anymore. I know for fortunate people it's full of joy and plenty especially for most children and yet so painful and horrible for others.

However, as they say in my neck of the woods 'I'll put a face on' for the Christmas festive season so I don't spoil it for the people who still enjoy it, and most importantly for those who still think Santa Claus is the real deal. Which is something that should never be spoilt as for a child it's the best feeling in the world.

A wonderful Christmas day shave with some of my favourite new old, and infrequently used wet shaving assortments.

The humble grated Palmolive classic shave stick provided a superb protective lather in a short space of time leaving a good post shave feel.

Finishing to the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.

Later, but soon i will be venturing out to the family gathering to help prepare the Christmas dinner, my multi tasking-skills come in useful at certain times' and take part in the festive activities, then as i always try to do, catch up on some well earned rest.
