I'm new to B&B but have been DE shaving for a few years. I started straight shaving last year after I got a Supreme Special 4/8" for X-mas from my father-in-law. This is my inaugural SOTD post! I took extra pictures to document the process I've come up with so far in my short shaving career.
Prep: Shower, soak and heat bowl and Tweezerman Badger brush (my only and cheapest!), warming towels in towel warmer
Strop: 30 laps suede, 50 laps leather, soak soap - Lightfoot's Pine
Weapons of choice: Colonial Tool Steel Stainless 4/8" Extra Hollow, Merkur 38C? with Derby X-tra
Prep: Kyle's prep variant - Whip lather, apply and massage, reapply and immediately layer hot towels 2-3 min.
First pass with Straight, second pass with DE
Post Shave: Hot Towel during clean-up, cold water rinse, Alum all over, Henri & Claude Organic Aftershave, Davines Nutrient Oil
Scent: Bvlgari White Tea
SAS Double Pass! I've got super thick hair but very sensitive skin, so I'm constantly looking for improvements in any technique to reduce neck razor burn. Very little today, which was great! Any thoughts are appreciated.
