Something shady in iKon?

What's with the shady business going on with iKon? It seems many people are driven away from it for some fishy reason based solely on a "moral" scale. So what is it? I know iKon is based in the Philippines, so whats going on? Child labor? Underpaid workers?

Care to share your experience with everyone?

What happened to make you feel this way?

I had a quick read of that thread, touchy subject. Now on the basis of these razors, I've never used one, and i don't feel like spending that sort of money on them. I like my vintages :D

Just over the years of reading posts, some people just seem to steer away from iKon.
I saw one recently that sparked my interest, I wish I had the exact post to refer to. It said something along the lines of "If I had to choose between Weber and iKon, I'd go Weber. Not because I tried the iKon or anything, but just for moral reasons"
^I could be wrong, I just saw this yesterday.

Oh and sorry about the misinformation. Thailand, I guess.
(yeesh, why so snide?)

Shameful plagiarism of PILS designs
Unprofessionalism in attacking B/S/T mods on his website and eBay
Lack of rigidity pricing (aimed solely towards profit)

Thanks, I found these faults^

I was pretty disappointed when this all went down.

I have a limited edition numbered IKON Bulldog Open Comb which is the nicest, best shaving razor I own. I bought it as part of a father's day special years ago and it is my daily shave. They were a lot cheaper back then too IIRC.

If you're satisfied then we're done here.

I must have been hiding under a rock. I saw some shady stuff being mentioned about iKon but I never really took much notice because I am not a DE guy. I appreciate you bringing this up. I have seen his razors at Italian Barber and always thought they looked high quality.

No you don't.

That isn't exactly the kind of attitude we strive for here at B&B

If you're satisfied then we're done here.

Are we no longer able to talk about this topic?

I think what ouch is getting at is that there is plenty of information on the B&B about Ikon. All it takes it the use of the search engine, and members can find all the information they need...positive or negative.

There's nothing wrong with discussing the performance of a product, but use caution when swinging a branch around a hornets nest. If I can be of any assistance, my advice would be to PM a mod and ask questions that way. This way- the integrity of the vendor and this forum are respected.

Regards,

Brad
