Solidifying Proraso Red?

Me and a friend were talking today about Proraso. He loves the Red, but would rather have a soap for travelling. I read somewhere here about someone getting good results from using a dried out Proraso cream as a soap.

Question: Does anyone have a recipe for doing this willingly, drying out cream into a hard croap?

I imagine smearing a few mm in the bottom of the desired container and adding a few mm every day would to the trick.

Thanks for the replies. The thread said it took him eight weeks, so we had better got started.

I'm doing this with some Irisch Moos cream.. it's been airing out for 3 weeks or so and has gone from cream to croap and has retained most of the scent. I'm going to let it sit for a few more weeks I think, I miss my IM shave stick :p

Yup it works. Squeeze it into a tub and let it air out. The top will harden fairly quickly but there rest will take a while. I imagine you could speed up the process if you squeezed onto a plate or something else that is flat and then scraping and packing it into a container of your choice.

I'd say spread it on a sheet pan and put a fan across it, but your significant other might not like you doing that with her baking equipment. Maybe get a cheap cookie sheet?
