I'm dating myself, but I remember when the Techmatic first came out. It was Gillette's first cartridge razor. I bought one and had not so good results, but I'm thinking maybe it was partially due to poor techniques on my part. My shaving techniques have improved greatly since 1967.
Listed as a SCHLICK Razor on the Bay - didn't attract the usual Injector attention. Coming my way soon.
Should I keep the Patina? I kind of like it. I'm sure some of it will come off with a Dawn Spray and light scrub to clean it up.

It looks nice the way it is. I polished mine. Flip a coin.

I did not find any razors that I wanted at the flea market this morning… so I did not think that I would get a razor today.
I went to a birthday party this afternoon, and my wife and I decided to go to an antique store with different vendor booths. I found this Schick single edge adjustable for $7.
There was also a GEM Junior safety razor with a Bakelite handle for $4.50, but I passed on it.

I took a ride out this afternoon to my favorite local antique shop and check on the owner as he is not doing well health wise. When I was done checking in with him he said he had some razors in for me. When I saw this Gem Junior lather catcher my eyes lit up and I came home with it. It's in a lot better shape than my other gem Junior. And this one cost me quite a bit less. It's interesting it's got the strop attachment.

Yes, the bar is for older wedge blades.
I also noticed my bar is bent on one side. Should be fine with modern blades that I use in these.

Was there any difference between the techmatic razors made between 1965 to 1985 ie were there different techmatic razor models or were they all exactly the same, with the only variation over that time in the features of the cartridges.
They don't seem to be listed on Mr razors site, unless I missed them somehow.
Just in Shield brass AC. It came with several AC blades (brand unknown). Beaitiful finish with a slender 90mm handle. First shave in the morning. The head is similar to the Vector at a fraction of the cost.

Very cool. What kind of blades does it take? Looks like GEM or some proprietary blade.
