This one's broken in.

This is an Omega 10049 that I bought for $12 in 2016. After four years of occasional use it has a fantastic knot. I recently realized that the knot quite easily comes out of the handle and I'm currently looking for a nice handle for the knot. I've also recently bought some inexpensive plastic handled Zeniths that were very good latherers right out of the box that I also hope will be separated from their handles quite easily. My boars. The 28mm Zenith Chubby Scrubby. Two DsCosmetic 26mm knots, that I set into the acrylic handles. The boar on the right is set with a 3mm loft spacer and it has a fuller bloom. All have slightly different dynamics in use. All beautiful comfortable boars.

It is interesting to me that my fully broken-in older vintage boar knots splay little, if at all. Here is a recently acquired Klenzo:

I have a lucite base Ever-Ready with a knot that is very similar, as well as an even more ancient Whiting-Adams. The mid-century modern NOS Ever-Ready on the right will splay more than either of the other two knots:

Something about that 'set in rubber' process?
