Shield Predator

I received my Shield Predator in the mail. The seller included about 20 GEM PTFE blades. That was very nice of him.

I tried out a shave in the shower last night. All was well until the ATG pass on the cheek area. Got a minor weeper and feedback on aftershave splash. 6/10 shave.

Going to have to keep practicing proper angle. Feels awkward coming from DE/SE.

Hopefully gets better from here.

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread but on the site is a HEAD AC SE combo head of Gem & Artist Club, very very interesting. I have an Artist Club head (ordered from the AliExpress site), overall mild but when paired with a Super Pro, very effective.

What were the specs on your AC head? Gap & exposer?

2nd shave with this razor this morning. I adjusted my shaving angle this time. I laid the top cap flat against my face.

Very smooth. It felt like it wasn't cutting the whiskers. I only needed 2 passes with light touchups.

BBS shave. Smoothest shave I've ever had. 10/10

Very minimal feedback from aftershave. I attritube that to the bad shave from the previous day.

I see where all the love comes from for this razor.

3rd shave this morning. Very smooth and BBS. Zero feedback from aftershave. Really feels like it's cutting nothing but gets close.

All I want now is a SS razor stand.


I was apprehensive in thinking that I may never like a GEM style razor. I'm really glad I tried the Predator. Great razor.
