Sharper Image - fogless mirror

I received a Sharper Image fogless mirror that has a wireless connection where you can dock an Ipod. I tried it for the first time yesterday and wanted to share some thoughts.

The idea is great, but execution leaves a bit lacking. There are two main problems with the unit I received and few minor problems.

1) The mirror distorts my face. This is the major problem for me, but in a way not a big problem. I can shave in a steam or sauna without a mirror using my DE and not have a problem. So using a mirror in the shower is a nice extra but not necessary.

2) When you dock your Ipod in the device you can't see screen. To get the device to play you have to turn the ipod upside down and place the screen facing to the rear. So you must select your music and start, then slip it into the wireless transmitter.

Minor problem -

The set up was a bit complicated and did not need to be. The instruction booklet was lacking as best. Yes I was able to put the parts together and get it to work but it did take a bit of time. I had a bit of problem finding where to put the batteries in the unit that went in the shower (it was behind the mirror). Then it took me a few minutes to get the idea of how to attach the mirror to the wall of the shower. A few minutes scratching my head and I did get it worked out.

All of that being said I did get it working and put on a selection of Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins and cranked it up a bit - and had an enjoyable shower and shave. The music in the shower was a very good for the soul and I got a decent shave.

I have no idea the cost of the device from Best Buy is $59.99 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/The+Sha...ci_sku=9472386&ref=06&loc=01&id=1218123550683

While it's nice I am not sure I would have purchased it for myself - but then that's the nice thing about a Christmas gift. You get things you would not necessarily buy for yourself.
