Shark Week Starts July 7, 2024

Shark Week, bookend Sunday:

Pre-shave: Liquid Neutrogena
Brush: RR 400 matte Plissoft
Cream: Barbasol Aloe green
Razor: The Razor Company TTO
Blade: Shark Platinum (2)
Number of passes: 3 (cheeks WTG, XTG, and ATG; neck XTG, XTG, and XTG)
Touchups or buffs: Yes
Aftershave: Skin bracer and Nivea Sensitive balm
Sting: None
Result: DFS

Today’s shave confirms that the Razor Company’s new TTO razor is much more mild than the standard Baili 179. I have no way of knowing if it is due to quality control and variance, or if Baili’s pinless “Upgrade Head” [sic] is milder by design. What I do know is this razor won’t get any more face time. I shaved the heck out of my face and barely got DFS. It is probably more like CCS. Despite all that work, the Skin Bracer felt like water. Nothing. Nada. No feedback of any kind.

Shark Week Shave 8
Last shave of Shark Week 2024

Shark Super Chrome
Pearl Flexi Open Comb
Master Soap Creations - Vintage Lapidus (Soap and Splash)
Yaqi Cashmere

There was no blood in the water today.

Strangely, of the last 6 shaves the three with weepers were with the SB versions. When I moved to the Open Comb versions I didn't have any even though I kept the same settings.

As always, its been fun.
Big thanks to @BigJ for hosting.

Shark 🦈🩸🦈 Week - Day 8

What a delight. Shave #5 with the Super Stainless felt buttery smooth again. I compensated the lack of keenness with the fading blade in it's fifth outing by choosing a higher gapped razor (Razorock GC 1.05-P).
What a great combo. Two passes plus touchups. Almost BBS. Super high level of comfort, free of nicks or weepers.

Shark Week's over now, thus I binned the blade. No blood was in the water...

Thanks for hosting the event @BigJ.

See you all next year in good health!
Cheers!

Alright just one more , just because.

Today's shave, 2 days of growth

Razor : Merkur 34 HD C
Blade : Shark Supper Stainless (3)
Soap (SOTM) : Stirling Margaritas in the Artic
Brush : Trafalgar T2
Aftershave: Osma Alum block, Nivea Men Sensitive Calm Moisturizer

And this is a wrap for this blade that will be bined later today. See you next year Shark blades.

For the final shave of shark week, I switched the same Shark Super Stainless blade to a Gillette Slim on 5, and face lathered Razorock The Dead Sea with a 24mm Yaqi badger. The Dead Sea is a favorite, and one of the few soaps I've tried that I'd repurchase. Great shave, no blood. The blade is on its 7th outing, and I'll continue using it until I feel it's done; in general, I like a blade with a few shades under is belt.

Thanks to our host @BigJ

Shark Week!! - JAWS Platinum - Shave #3 - Final Shave

TL;DR -
Another excellent shave, still close and smooth, DFS+, and no blood in the water

Equipment: Merkur 20C razor, JAWS Platinum (3), PdP 63 soap, DSC T4 Brush

Shaving With Sharks: Shave #3, and final shave for Shark Week 2024, was a wonderfully smooth and close shave. The JAWS Platinum has treated my face kindly, PdP 63 provided excellent lather, and the results were right in the DFS+ range. Counting all limbs and digits, it appears that I've successfully swam with both the Shark Super Stainless and JAWS Platinum, making it out of the water fully intact!!

Thank you, @BigJ, for hosting an amazing Shark Week!!

Thoroughly enjoyed Shark Week, thank you @BigJ! All of my limbs are still attached & my bandage supply was not depleted!

366 shaves in 2024
Shave#194 of 366 remaining 172(100%)
Shark Week

Razor:
Muhle Rocca R94
Blade: Shark Super Chrome (2)
Brush: Yaqi Purple Mink
Soap: ZM Explorer
A/S: Davidoff Cool Water
Post Shave: Nivea Hyaluron Gel

Tonight back to the Explorer for the final 3017 shave of the week and the final shave of Shark Week. I'm sticking with the Rocca as it seems to be my best performing razor with the Shark SC. I got a decent shave although not a BBS finish on my neck. Although Shark Week is finished now I will continue to use the Shark SCs until I finish the tuck.
Thankfully no blood drawn this year, a surprise considering I was using my nemesis blade.
Thanks to @BigJ for being our gracious host for this event.

Shark Week – Shave 6

SOTD Sunday 14 July

  • Razor Gillette Super Adjustable O1 (5)
  • Blade Jaws Platinum
  • Pre-Shave Pears soap (Mint)
  • Brush Synthetic
  • Cream Proraso Blue
  • Post Shave Nivea Sensitive Pro Moisturizer
  • Aftershave Brut Splash
  • Balm Nivea – Sensitive Balm

The Daily Shave.

Continuing Shark Week theme

The Jaws Platinum on its 2nd use. Very smooth effortless shave.

My first run with my new to me Vintage Gillette Super Adjustable, I set this on (5). Very smooth efficient setting. Plenty of comfortable blade feel.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Gillette Super Adjustable, a great addition to the shave den.

I really enjoy Proraso creams, very easy to produce a soft creamy lather with plenty of slick protection.
The Blue has a strong spice scent with notes of amber & musk. I also get a hint of menthol.
