Sending funds to B/S/T sellers.

I have shipped (admittedly) a few items to the US. Never had to fill out anything beyond declaring the nature of the item when paying the postage. Is it really that onerous a task on the US side? Genuinely curious, as many people make it sound like it is the worst thing ever . . .

Or, is it just a case of convenience?

Convenience is a big reason for me. As mentioned, to ship within the US, I can use the automated kiosk and drop it off. To ship internationally, I must fill out forms (no big deal) and see a teller (big issue for me). I work long hours and it is not easy for me to go to a Post Office during regular business hours to use a teller. To use the kiosk, I can go to the Post Office at any hour (open 24 hours) and do my shipping. I usually ship at 4am on my way to work.

Best thing ever are the USPS CPU (contract postal unit). There is one in the supermarket down the road, open whenever the store is open so I am heading there now to ship some strops to Europe. Much more convenient than the actual post office.
