Semogue 1305 Question

I recently bought a Semogue 1305. It arrived on Monday and I started using immediately and have used it exclusively this week (trying to get through the break-in process as quickly as possible).

I face lather with Mike's Naturals and I have noticed that every shave the brush looses one or two hairs. This is only the 5th day I've been using it, but I started off with a shampoo cleaning and a couple of test lathers so it's been used about 10 times.

This is my first Boar brush, so I'm wondering: Is this normal? Should the brush be loosing a one or two hairs for the first couple of weeks, or does my brush have the mange? Did I get a "shedder"?

Thanks,

A couple of factors come to mind:
- If you are not soaking the brush for a few minutes before use, the bristles will be a bit more fragile
- When I use a boar to face lather, if I press down, I notice I get a couple of broken bristles
- If neither of these, then it should calm down after several uses and if it continues, then it may be faulty...however, ive never had a shedding Semogue (ive had about 12 of them).

Not a big deal, i have one and it will shed a few bristles at first but after a while that will stop.
If you want it to break in faster, let it dry 2 days between each use, as thats when the ends really split.

Also, being a 1305, be careful not to drop it. The paint is damaged easily!

As has been mentioned, don't worry to much about it for now. If it continues after a few weeks, then there might be a problem.
Enjoy the brush.

My 1305 shed a few of hairs when i first got it, but hasn't since. I've had it for roughly 6 months. I'll agree the paint isn't that great but the brush is awesome.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll make sure I soak it well and I'll stop using it every day to try and speed up the breaking in process.

Cheers,

I have also started using my 1305 every 2nd day and I notice it is breaking in faster than previous brushes (this is my 5th 1305, I sole a couple and gave away a couple to family members).

I use the Sem 830 a lot. I just love it. It is truly the silvertip of boars.
