The Lather Maestro
Well, I wasn't a watch guy, wore the same watch daily for 25 years until I lost it. It was an automatic wind Seiko. So then, like I usually do, I went down the watch rabbit hole. Got a Seiko Prospex Turtle Diver, autowind for some reason, felt it was more appealing than battery watches. Then had the hands, glass, bezel, and band replaced. Was about $350 IIRC, have a couple hundo into modding it to my liking, and had it calibrated to where it was fast by about 2 seconds a day.
Now it's slow by 4.2 minutes per day. I've lost interest in watches, and decided battery watches are just fine, thank you very much. But it seems such a waste for me to just throw this out. So, here we go, PIF time! Yes, I know, a PIF of a broken (runs, but slow by 4.2 mins per day is broken in my book) watch isn't that exciting to some. But I know some of you nuts have calibration gear at home and can adjust this or are enough of a fan of mechanical watches you are willing to send it out to a repair specialist for calibration.
That is who this PIF is for. It is not for someone not willing to pay to have it calibrated, and it is not for the shade-tree mechanic who has never worked on watches to take apart thinking it would be fun to become a DIY watch repair guy, and never get it back together again. So for the watch fan who has the skills and experience to work on it or who is willing to send it out for repair.
I'll let this run until Saturday, January 29th and pick a winner then. Here are the pics.
