GIVEAWAY! Seiko Prospex Diver - modified - runs slow

Well, I wasn't a watch guy, wore the same watch daily for 25 years until I lost it. It was an automatic wind Seiko. So then, like I usually do, I went down the watch rabbit hole. Got a Seiko Prospex Turtle Diver, autowind for some reason, felt it was more appealing than battery watches. Then had the hands, glass, bezel, and band replaced. Was about $350 IIRC, have a couple hundo into modding it to my liking, and had it calibrated to where it was fast by about 2 seconds a day.

Now it's slow by 4.2 minutes per day. I've lost interest in watches, and decided battery watches are just fine, thank you very much. But it seems such a waste for me to just throw this out. So, here we go, PIF time! Yes, I know, a PIF of a broken (runs, but slow by 4.2 mins per day is broken in my book) watch isn't that exciting to some. But I know some of you nuts have calibration gear at home and can adjust this or are enough of a fan of mechanical watches you are willing to send it out to a repair specialist for calibration.

That is who this PIF is for. It is not for someone not willing to pay to have it calibrated, and it is not for the shade-tree mechanic who has never worked on watches to take apart thinking it would be fun to become a DIY watch repair guy, and never get it back together again. So for the watch fan who has the skills and experience to work on it or who is willing to send it out for repair.

I'll let this run until Saturday, January 29th and pick a winner then. Here are the pics.

Very kind of you. I'm not your target demographic, as I don't have calibration gear. I believe my skinny wrists wouldn't be able to handle the watch anyway (assuming I've guessed the proper "turtle" for comparing specs...). Hope this watch finds the right home.

Would love to be in on this, and I have just the place close to my house to have it serviced. Such a generous offering!

Respectfully, not in.

Actually, I fit the demographic to a "T," as I love mechanical watches, and work with a whiz at watch repair. However, this Seiko is too big for my small wrists. My wish is this incredibly generous PIF goes to someone who will really enjoy this wonderful watch. Big nod to @JCinPA for raising the bar!

I'm in. What a PIF.

I love divers, actually tried to get a Seiko here a couple years ago on the BST with trades but nothing materialized. I have a beater Casio diver, a Citizen Promaster and a Seiko 007.

I'd love to own this one and would gladly pay to have a local shop repair it.

Super generous offering.

It’s been a while since I was on the watch forums, but 6R15 rings a bell. Not saying I remember correctly but it rings a bell.

I run slow too. In fact, if I don’t hear gunshots I don’t run at all.
