Second straight shave

I don't know if i'm some sort of prodigy or something... but, I just finished my second shave. No nicks, some razor burn and BBS or near BBS on my ENTIRE FACE. Dear Lord, this is an easier way to shape my goatee.

If you'll excuse me, I must go offer a virgin face to the shave gods.

Seems more like you're the high priest. There's plenty of blood sacrificed faces already. I've definitely made my own sacrifices.

I'd say something complimentary, but... well... Instead I'll just knock wood.

Ah, if you aren't shaving the whole face, it might explain the lack of nicks... The moustache and chin are very difficult...

However, the throat is one of the biggest problems.

In all cases, good work! This is great!

I shave my entire face, excluding my chin. It's a petite goatee sort of thing

Congrats on the shave. Just keep it slow and simple. I got a couple good ones in a row and thought I was pretty good. Then #3 and a few after that, with those I should have had the Red Cross here to collect my blood donation.

I slowed down and went back to a VERY SLOW, just the cheeks, worked onto the jaw line, did the neck very lightly. All the progress was done over several shaves. Things are working out for the better now, but still a ways to go.

+1 on the "keep it slow and simple" comment.

Still being new to it myself, I think that's my rule#1.

Slow & relaxed works for me. ..which is the reason I switched to straights to begin with.
The only time I had a less-than-enjoyable shave was when I felt rushed and/or was not relaxed.

Besides, keeping it slow also allows you to keep a close eye on angles, adequate stretching, general technique, etc...
