Scuttle usage day 3 and 4

I have come to the conclusion that for me, the scuttle works best with shaving cream. My goal is to use hot lather not warm lather. The shave soaps that I have will not dry out as fast in the scuttle at lower temperatures of the 134° that comes out of my faucet. But, when I microwave the water in the scuttle to achieve a higher water temperature the shave soaps dry out very quickly while the shave creams do not dry out as fast. This may not be the same for everyone else but this is my conclusion. I like to rotate different shave soaps or shave creams everyday to make this shaving process more exciting so I will save the scuttle for shaving creams. There are so many shave soaps out there and wouldn't be fun eventually try them all? Happy shaving. David

Glad you did some experimentation and got to your final goal of hot lather! Like everyone says, everyone's experience is different and that's part of what makes our hobby enjoyable. At least you now know what works and what doesn't. Happy shaving!
