When I first found this forum, I didn't realize what an impact it would have on me. While I had been wetshaving off and on for some years using Williams and Aramis and Old Spice, my lather and techniques weren't that great.
What brought me here is what brings everybody here. Looking for a better shave than what I was getting. After years of using multiblade razors I wanted something better. I was tired of lousy shaves and razors that would give only two good shave if I was lucky. This forum helped me to get away from the incredibly bad razors that had been foisted upon the public. While I had first shaved with a DE as a teen, in the military we were issued Gillettes Trac 2 razors. And it just went on from there.
The first DE razor I bought was a Merkur #25 Open Comb. Using Merkur blades I achieved some truly great shaves. But it was a longer learning curve for me, as I'm noted for being stubborn and like many people have some serious ingrained habits. While I have purchased other razors, mostly Gillettes, my go-to is my Merkur #42C 1904 with safey bar. My AD's seem mostly to be toward soaps and creams. I have a total of 24 different soaps and creams and I'm not done yet. I want to have 31 total so I can if needed, shave everyday for a month without using the same one twice.
I only have 8 brushes. 3 badgers, 4 boars and 1 synthetic. Forgive me for not having bought more.
Because of B&B I now carry a bag with me most places. Not a murse or a purse. Possibly a man-bag if you will, but one which even the manliest of men admire. The Maxpedition Versipack. It's great for packing a gun and I no longer carry a wallet. All my card are in it with a bunch of other things. If you want to carry a bag, this is the one to get. I've met guys currently serving in the military who've given me compliments on this bag. Even a cop gave me one for it.
One of the biggest problems with B&B is that I don't know what I'm going to want to buy next. You guys keep coming up with stuff I want to try. STOP IT!!!

Congrats on the milestone!

Looks like a fanny pack on steroids :001_smile. You don't find it cumbersome at all to have on you all the time?

No, it's quite comfortable. Easy to access. I keep it in a locker when at work. I've never had any negative comments about it. And only one person has asked if I'm carrying a gun in it. That was at Cabela's, and she only asked if I were going to be taking it out.

Thanks for your input Ray. A forum can only be as good as its members and good guys with good ideas make B+B a winner! Here's to thousands of posts in the future.
