I think I'm going to buy two more safety DE razors.
The first one would be for my dad, for father's day. He's never really had a good shaving session; the best shaver he has is the Braun 760cc that I got him before I learned about wetshaving; he doesn't care enough for this stuff, nor do he have the time. I figure he would enjoy a change.
I was thinking a Merkur 34C. Would that be good for a first-timer? I've never tried that one, so I do not know of its characteristics.
The second one would be for my SO. She's always used Venus Flytraps to shave the legs, and thus always gets shaving bumps, etc. She finally gave in and I succeeded in persuading her to try wet-shaving. I heard lot of good things about the long-handled TTO "Lady" Gillette, and I'm looking into that one.
The problem is that I know nothing about Gillette safety razors. Are there anything I should watch out for, especially since it'll most definitely be a used one? Are there certain issue dates that are particularly good or bad?
