What's new

New razors for a new year: Two new Yaqis (likely 34C and 37C clones)

Aliexpress has a warehouse in the EU so, that explains a lot of fast shipping and no VAT on a lot of orders.

Regarding the USA shipping, A $5 tennis ball (1, not the whole tube) would cost you $65 in shipping via a slow boat to Europe based on my last attempt to mail something to Austria.
Almost all Yaqi products are shipped from China. There are a couple of vendors that ship from EU, but their range of Yaqi products is quite limited to some low cost stuff like combs, and women's waxing stuff.

Here it is. The knob is 15mm diameter, so it only fit in my large Sytletto stands from Rasoigoodfellas.

I shaved before I got it, so I can only say it is looking good. I believe the handle is a leftover from an adjustable Yaqi razor, they just added the colorful aluminum knobs.

Good grip, thumb and index finger hold the neck and the pinky sits under the butt end. The spirals in the center are just for looks.

On the flashlight forum I participate in, a lot of EU members report shipping from Poland and no VAT or other related import duties or taxes when they purchase them on Ali Express.

I tried really hard to injure myself with this razor. I couldn't. It's super mild and safe!

And... It is also very efficient. I could even feel a bit of alcoholic sting on my right cheek after shaving. 😳

This razor makes my Mellon look harsh and inefficient in comparison. Even the Lambda Athena has more blade feel and chance for injury.

The efficiency is ridiculously good. It also feels milder than the Merkur 37c yet is much more efficient. 🤯 Only under the nose a rather common problem for slants, had to try a bit to get everything till morning was felt anymore.

This is a fantastic razor and @albsat , you came to my mind when shaving with it. You would love it, but its sold out. But I am very sure it will return

I have the Merkur 37c in memory as more aggressive but not quite as efficient. This is a surprise. The only downside for me is that the shave is lacking some excitement, it's idiot proof. But very efficient. I would compare it to a Henson, in terms of ease of use. I find it much more efficient and thorough.

It doesn't quite match my L3++ OC or Wunderbar for a super deep shave, but it is super safe and is way more efficient as it has any right to be for being so mild.

The handle was grippy and well balanced, the pommel (not seen in this pic) needs a 15mm stand.

One never knows with razors. It's quite the polar opposite approach to the WR2 clones with huge gap I love so much.

For fans of mild razors, this one might be the grail.

For fans of blade feel, you will barely find it.

It feels very similar to the Memory 37, yet it is way more effective. Maybe CNC has an advantage over cast Zamak for this design? They really got it perfectly right.

It's much more efficient than the DSCosmetic Game Changers and milder, hear, hear!

Due to mildness many will prefer it over higher SuperSlant plates.

The handle night not be everyone's favorite, it's basically an IMO wir unnecessarily complicated way to create a RazoRock UFO handle with colorful pommel and less weight. A titanium handle would also go bed well with this head.

@JAHE shaves like a Merkur 37, but way better. No other/better/more convincing way to describe it. I am not sure how the razor does it. Maybe the Suneko is a perfect match for this one.

@Shaun asleep you are slowly starting to appreciate it. Let me help you speed up the process, yes, it is ridiculously good.

@m949 get it. 👌

Edit: i don't know why my smart phone turns "very" into "bed" so often, sorry.

Thank you for such a detailed and thorough review... It's making me think about the ATT S1 vs. the Slant 37.... They sort of appeal to different markets... so I wonder if anyone here will have both.... I have a couple projects to complete before I'll order either, though I might be able to sneak the Slant 37 in somewhere.... The ATT S1 is quite a bit more expensive and will have to wait until late 3rd quarter, at least... Maybe Black Friday???

I can feel some hair on my chin, there the lack of blade feel, gap and exposure is detrimental. Next time I will go over again and focus a bit more. I find slants Ubder nostrils and chin always a bit disorienting, not sure where exactly the blade is right now with these big heads.

But cheeks are still fine, so shaving every other day seems possible. Very nice!

It will be even better for the daily shavers, given how mild it is.

@Phoenixkh I might give it another handle, otherwise it's fantastic. It also reminds me again how utterly useless it is for me to guess how much I will like a razor or not.

This is a Merkur 37, yet it does way better. How comes? I put in a Solimo/Personna blade, let's see how it shaves with a now cushioned blade. But I guess the Suneko blade was helping the razor to shine, just like a BIC Astor incredibly, at least for me, has quite an edge compared to the otherwise very good BIC Platinum wegen using it in Lambda Athena and Ares.

As you already bought the whole production of Timeless Crown handles, take a look at the new DSCosmetic Ti Thor handle, which has not only the looks but is also highly functional. And still about only half the price of the Ti Crown.

It's definitely a slant worth trying is the SuperSlant is just too much for someone. I still am not sure if the different gaps and options actually matter that much if people don't get along with it. I would dare to say the + and ++ options change the geometry more.

Oh my, I got carried away.

TLDR some felt stubble under the chin 13-16 hours later, otherwise all fine.

I took a quick look for the Ti Thor handle, but it doesn't come up for me.... I saw a list of their titanium handles....but no luck...

Well, I bit the bullet.... OK... two bullets... I ordered the Yaqi Slant 37 along with a RR SuperSlant L2++OC.... I loved the L1++OC, but it was just a tad mild for me..... I'm hoping the L2OC will be perfect, but who knows? If not, I'll pass it along on BST.

I'm strongly considering putting my Rocnel Elite SS 2022 and the brass Elite 2024 on BST... along with my gold plated (Back Roads Gold) Bayonetta. As much as I love the Bayonetta, I noticed I haven't used it once since I got it back from Chris... and the two other Elites I have won't see much use since I bought the hybrid Elite 2023.

I just had an excellent shave with the Slant 37. It's not just mild, is very efficient. My cheeks felt quite some alcoholic sting. This time I focused more on the chin. I used an Amazon Solimo/Personna blade.

I only ordered the SuperSlant razor head.. I know adding a handle is only a few dollars more, but I'll be using a Ti handle on it.... and I'll switch out the Yaqi Slant 37 stainless handle too.....
