Puerh Tea Information needed

Greeting to all,

This is my first post on this forum. I'm hoping you can help provide more information of this teacake I brought back from China. It was given to my cousin and I took it back to Canada with me. Its looks like it has been aged for a while. The tea leave were coming off very easily without much prying. On the cover, it reads in Chinese Limited Edition 9999 Qty, and it has a collector's serial #. I have not tried yet. I am waiting for a relaxing weekend where I can fully enjoy the tea without any interruption. Thanks in advance for any comments and advice.

I've never seen that one, but it looks cooked, which makes it harder to guess the age.

Someone will probably chime in soon.

Hi

Would you just need someone to translate the chinese on the cake ?

It looks very loose and light to be the fermented type pu erh .

I don't need the translation. What I would like to know is if anybody recognizes the brand and when it was produce. It appears this is an export product since it’s written in traditional Chinese. I picked up in Guangzhou. I used to have a pu erh cake from Vancouver that was twenty years old. It’s also flicky like this one. The twenty yr old tea was not the best of quality but still very good. I like to know if I should seal it to prevent from further fermentation.

My best guess:

2003 Songpin Imperial, stone mold with manual pressing, from the Yiwu area.

Use very short seeps with this cake as the leaves are tiny and it will get bitter quickly.
