Proraso pre-post cream question

Hi DE diehards,

I want to buy the Proraso post cream but I have some questions:

1. The scent is eucalyptus/menthol. I want to use it as a moisturizer for the whole face. Won't it sting my eyes that menthol when i rub it under my eyes? Are here people who use it for the whole face?

2. Balm is too liquid and Nivea cream (original darkblue) is too thick/solid. How is proraso post cream? How thick? I like something that is not so liquid als balm but also not too thick.

Best regards
Smoothshave

I only use it as a pre-shave, and never under the eyes.

Proraso pre/post is pretty darn thick. It loosens up a bit when you apply it to a wet face.

Note that there is now a version of pre/post for sensitive skin, which might be better suited for your application. I've not tried it (yet), so I cannot say for certain.

You mean this?

I have only used it on my beard and have never come close to my eyes so I can't answer that part of the question. However, it is not a liquid - more like a solid balm. You won't need much to cover your face. If you try it my recommendation would be to treat it like sun tan lotion and apply to your lower face or forehead first then go around your eyes. That way your not going to have build up near your eyes that could get into them.

@FLTiger: that sensitive skin is only meant for pre-shave, as far as I know

At some point in the last year or so, Proraso relabeled their pre-post shave cream as pre-shave only; they dropped the "post' for some reason.

And who's selling the sensitive skin formula? I haven't seen it before. The only place I found it on-line was here - and they refer to it as a pre-post cream. None of the usual US suspects seems to have it yet. :frown:

That's right. The first one I bought read in Italian "pre e dopo barba" (before and after shave).

The back label explained, in Italian, that it was useful for protecting the skin from wind and sun. I did use it as an after shave all over my face and I enjoyed the cooling sensation. I've moved on to other after shaves but you may want to give it a try. I still use it before every shave though.
