Worked on a bowl of grainger yesterday in this knarly bones. I say worked because the bowl was interrupted multiple time . Kiddo woke up from a nap so I had to cook dinner. Then late when I thought I could finish it my neighbors dog was running loose and kinda trapped me and my dogs in their pen area until it decided to go away . Had to dump the bowl and make a break for it when I had the chance... fun fun

Got home a little early and had time for a smoke: some Half & Half plus Match Field & Stream in my baby Savinelli 404. Very nice, about 20 minutes or so -- it's a small-bowled pipe. I stood outside for a while, then by the stove with the fan going while I read.

This afternoon/evening, smoked Newminster 403 Superior Round Slices in a Savinelli 114 KS Sherwood Rock Briar, one of my original pipes from the 1970's. Then Sutliff 150 Mark Twain in a Jobey Shellmoor 735 Canadian.

Early on a peaceful Saturday morning: Sir Walter Raleigh Regular in the Jeantet billiard with the horn stem. A solid 30-minute puffin'-and-sippin' session with a cup or two of hot dark coffee.

On impulse, a quick smoke of C & D Gentleman Caller this afternoon in the MM hardwood straight I bought to smoke it in. The leaf smoked well for about 10 minutes, and when I relit I quickly got a hint of pepperiness from the smoke, as if it were getting hot and about to bite. I tapped it out and let it go. No idea if it's the tobacco, the pipe, or the tobacco *in* this pipe.

Maybe this pipe is only for very short smokes.
