Pikesville RYE ??

I've been on a rye kick for about the last 3-4 months. My every day rye is Bulleit Rye, but I keep a bottle of Whistlepig 10yr Rye for special occasions. I did take a bottle of Bulleit Rye for opening day of dove season in Texas for our tailgate party the evening before. We set up an Old Fashioned bar using either Bulleit Rye or Buffalo Trace bourbon.

I enjoyed a bottle of Pikesville, largely because of home of our son.
Nice rye/bourbon, but, IMHO, not greatest.

That is a fair evaluation. I have not been tempted to replace my bottle of it, since I used it up. I sure wish they still made the original, lower proof, much less expensive version. Those were the days. I did not appreciate it enough at the time. So much better than Old Overholt, even 100 proof Old Overholt.

I would say that Peerless has pretty much set the bar for me for ryes.
