What's new

PIF: One of my favorites: Cella (Dog not included.)

I have already used Cella, so I'm not in. It doesn't really agree with my skin which I deeply regret. I just wanted to see the dog. I have a hound dog too. He's a Black Mouth Cur who I took in as a stray. I originally wanted to foster him, but I got attached and kept him.

My favorite soaps are Tabac, Palmolive, Arko, Mike's, Colgate Cup Soap, and vintage Williams.

Tabac- it lathers practically lathers itself and the slickness and cushion are top notch.

Palmolive- has a very clean scent, very convenient as it's a shave stick, and it lathers very easily and has great skincare.

Arko- I like this soap after it's been aired out for about a month. The scent disappears after that. The price can't be beaten and it lathers just by looking at it. It stays very slick and lather explodes as soon as your brush touches the soap.

Mike's- to me, he's a cut above all the other artisan soap makers I've tried. It has great skincare and the lather is very stable. He also has plenty of scents to choose from.

Colgate Cup Soap- this is a vintage soap. They can be found online and some people are selling them here too, you just have to look out for them. It always lathers well for me and just smells like soap. So it won't interfere with colognes or aftershaves. It's cool to have an old classic soap like that.

Vintage Williams- this soap is different than the current Williams soap. It's not very finicky with lather and doesn't have an offensive scent. The lather has plenty of slickness and cushion.

We just adopted another one. He was to be a foster also. Got hit by a car and they didn't even slow down, broken hip and leg, no one claimed him despite much effort to find the owners. We paid the vet bills. As soon as we got him home that was it. Permanent home. Foster? Never works. :biggrin1:

Beautiful pup, as is HDSledge's and Dog Whiskerer's pups.

He is the smallest dog I have ever owned at 15 pounds. I am always looking down to make sure I don't step on him. By the way the hound Polly was a starving rescue too. We took her home for a bath and then to be adopted. Nope. They stick to you like glue.

My God... people are so cruel. I'm glad he chose you guys to be his new family! I hope you have many wonderful years with him. What did you name him? My dog's name is Dunkin. He was found in front of a Dunkin Donuts, so it only seemed appropriate to name him that. I've had him for more than four years. He's been a great dog. I need to upload a photo of him.

My dog on the left is Caesar. He's a lab/pit mix. He's going on 7 and I've had him since he was 7 weeks old. Dunkin is my dog on the right. He was my failed foster that I posted about earlier. He's a Black Mouth Cur, but I don't think he's a full blooded BMC. He might be mixed with lab. But he has that hound dog instinct where he has to tree every animal he sees and he has a distinct hound dog bark and he makes this high pitched whining noise whenever he wants to go after something, usually cats because he hates cats.

My wife named the little guy John Wesley after the founder of the Methodist Church. He answers to Wesley. Here he is two weeks after surgery. He has a metal plate and 6 screws in his leg. He runs around like nothing happened now.

I guess no one can say we went off topic since I took the PIF pic with a dog in it. :)

A lot smaller than my labs, but definitely a lot of character.

Beautiful. I don't know if I will get another pup after my two go, 10 and 11 now. However, I will always enjoy seeing these great dogs.

I'm in. Thanks for the opportunity. My current favorite is Derby (I have the bowl). I find it easy to lather, slick and protective, and in my opinion, the soapy scent is just fine. It also lasts a very long time, and is quite cheap (I think i paid $5.50 or so ordering online from wal mart, with free shipping).

I'm in! Have not yet tried Cella. Thank you.

My fav so far is PAA La Tierra Mojada. Probably because it's the only artisan soap I've tried so far. (I have a couple others waiting in the wings.) It's slick, lathers easily, the scent is really pleasant. Supposedly a floral petrichor. I agree it is a 'flowers are blooming after the rain' sort of scent.

My other fav so far is Proraso white. Gentle on my sensitive skin, clean scent, works well.

Great dog pics!

Thank you. Dogs really make everything better. I'm dog sitting my mom's two toy poodles too, so it's a dog house in my apartment!

Dogs are just the best ever! I cannot have a dog since my landlord doesn't allow them. However, I volunteer as a dog walker at a local rescue. I help the dogs by socialising with them before they get adopted, and they help me by cheering me up or calming me down any time I'm having a rough day. Dogs are just so loving and forgiving, and they never hold grudges, despite whatever horrific experiences they've endured in the past. I always feel great after spending time with dogs. [emoji4]

This.

Too bad about your landlord not allowing you to have a dog. But you are helping dogs by giving them an idea of what a good human looks like. Keep it up, you are saving lives.

We are dog sitting this weekend. I had forgotten how much joy unconditional love can bring to a soul.

There is a sermon in that paragraph somewhere!

Some day I will have to write you folks an essay contrasting human love with that of dogs and cats! You are forewarned....

People are complicated, dogs are simple. Cats? Still haven't figured them out. They can love on you and then in a flash turn around and bite the dickens out of you.
