I palm strop daily for maintenance instead of using linen or canvas. It’s very effective. And also in between progressions when honing.

I have never done it, but can see the theoretical reason why it could work and could be good. I'm not sure if the risk/reward quotient is favourable enough for me. Here is a YouTube video of how to, if so inclined.
I can see why this is funny, but it relly isn't that hard to do whitout cutting yourself
. i do it now to clean the blade before and after stropping and sometimes during shaving. And because I can.
You can see doc226 strop on his forearm in one of his videos. And it appears to be quite worthwhile. I have always thumb stropped my knives after sharpening but never tried it with a razor.
Seems like we need a general term for this. I suggest 'skin stropping', referring to palm, forearm or thumb.
I do it as I shave just to keep the edge clean..I just give it a couple alternate passes to remove anything in the edge.It’s really just an ocd thing I guess..But that’s why I do it..Not to strop the edge or anything..Just me though-limited experience.
I tried several times, and palm stropping is indeed effective. I move very slowly because that is my hand.
