New Arrival: Semogue 2030B

I just received this from Vintage Scents. It's the only all metal handled brush I have. I am intrigued by the weight and overall feel. Plus, I love the blonde knot. Has anyone had experience with this relatively unknown beauty?

The Semogue 2030-B Premium Boar Shaving Brush is a very substantial and classy brush. It features a thin but heavy metal handle with an end cap to rest a finger. The knot is a premium boar knot that is great for those who like to face lather hard soaps, but versatile enough for creams as well.

Approximate Dimensions:
Knot Diameter: 21mm
Loft: 51mm
Handle Height: 62mm
Weight: 86g

I picked up one awhile back and I like it quite a bit. Don't see many around but I think they are very under rated. Extremely stiff bristles with ridiculous backbone and very little splay. Perfect for loading soaps that come in small containers, too.

I think you'll enjoy it!

This is a fantastic brush. I love the handle and weight. Excellent backbone and feel. It's quickly become a favorite! Enjoy :)

I'm on second round of a soap soak and rinse now. At first impression, the knot seems very similar to the Badger & Blade Essential boars. I have found that those brushes really don't splay anything like most Semogues. I will have to see how the 2030B is in that characteristic.

I concur with all of this. I had one for several months and loved the handle. Aside from the difficulty in hanging it on a stand, it's my favorite in terms of feel and heft. Unfortunately, I found the bristles too tough for face lathering (compared to a 1305, which is fantastic) and swapped out the knot for a silvertip.
