Need Some Help Please

Hello everyone. I am searching for a razor for my Dad for Christmas. He says that his all time favorite razor that he used was exactly like the Merkur Classic 1904/1906 open comb. What I would REALLY like to do is find the razor he is referring to for the year 1955. This is his birth year and I think this would make an awesome gift for him. So, if you guys could, please tell me the name of the razor I need to be looking for.

I think this would be an amazing gift for him. He asked me recently why I am not always clean shaven and I shared with him my experiences wet shaving with my SS A-1 and he immediately expressed interest.

Unfortunately, Gillette did not make any open comb razors in the US for 1955. Since he likes OC, you could try to pick up a NEW on the B/S/T (you can post a WTB). Or, alternatively, a birth year razor (Code "A"): Blue tip, Red tip, or Flare tip Superspeed, or a Tech.
