Okay, for now, Injectors are excluded.

I'm looking in wiki and I think that we can expand on what we got (it's slim right now). I need help to understand the difference between the razors as I will eventually get to the blades (which blade fits which razor) but not yet. First, I need to know what's out there.

What we got in wiki currently is:
  • 1912
  • 1914
  • 1924
  • Contour
  • Contour II
  • Featherweight
  • G-Bar
  • Jewel
  • Micromatic
  • Push Button
  • Zinn Gem Automatic
  • Streamline, Jewel & Ambassador
  • Rolls Razor

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong but there's a difference between a GEM 1912 and a GEM Junior? I mean, it's a similar razor but not the same razor? Should they each have their page?

I don't see a page for the Damaskeene either.

Would it make more sense to have a GEM 1912 and an Ever-Ready 1912 (so 2 pages)?

Many of these designs from GEM look similar with slight variances on the heads. The difference can be the cases and that is what can set most apart. I can go on the Waits to list some of the razors and the differences. The GEM Junior has a gold head and fat bake-lite handle, and some have thinner handle that came in military service sets.

As you can see, they look similar and some have slight variances on the heads or handle. But in general the GEMS cases are the indicators.

Here is a 1919 GEM Jr, but we are used to seeing them with FAt handle. This time is not in gold or fat handle.$gemjr.JPG

It makes sense to me to have a separate page for Ever-Ready. The British made Ever-Ready that came with the De Luxe set (i.e., the 1912 patent), for example, is plated in nickel and it is considerably more aggressive than the British made New Improved Ever-Ready 1912s from the 1930s. The handle is also longer, with wavy lines that resemble a grid-like diamond pattern when viewed from a distance. It does not shave like the other American or English 1912s.

Thank you for the info so far. I am looking a bit more at building a list to know what's out there or if we should regroup a few models under one. I want to add what we don't have and I will then look for pictures to add to the wiki. I need to know what I'm looking at first.

If I refresh the list. Bold are new pages. If there's something wrong, please don't hesitate to copy the list and repost so it's updated and easy to follow. The Latest list is the one that will be used.

The Ever-Ready is the Streamline.

The 1912s were branded under several different names, including: GEM, Ever-Ready, Treet, Star, and Radio.

Other SE's: Burham, Enders Speed Razor, Shake Sharp (uses a DE blade, but only one side is exposed)

Other se razors... the dehaven, the louis, the le coq ,the lux, and the much loved schick and pal razors.

Just my 2p worth

Not all. Some Ever-Ready Streamlines were sold as Jewels.

They do look similar, but in retrospect TheVez is right. It is made by different [GEM] division in the company , its a GEM razor not a Ever Ready razor. The GEM Jewel and Ever Ready are 2 different models.
