Mystery Salm Rock Coticule, Possible One Of A Kind

"Look what I found"
I think I have here a piece of unknown Coticule history. I purchased expecting a Salm Rock Coticule, which it is and so much more. There are two unexpected points of interest that in searching it’s history, can’t find any answers

The first it’s stamped with two logos on the surface. One is Salm Rock and the second is S.R. Droescher. In searching, I can’t find any link between the two companies. No other example of a Coti having these two stamps on the same stone. Severin had his tentacles in many area’s of the trade but can’t not find a link or a previously existing stone

The second is it size. It a 2x5 inch stone. I am most familiar with 2x4, being the most common size but have seen several 2.5x5 and a 7x1.5. This is the first 2x5 that I know of. Same search results, can’t find any examples or previously known stones in this size stamped Salm

Two anomaly in a complex history of a simple stone
Possibly a true missing link and one of a kind

What a sick stone! Almost a shame for such a nice stone to have stamps you don't want to lap off. My favorite coticule is a 5x2 and I love the size as a razor finisher. Congrats!

Great score, Tim. I don’t recall seeing a 5x2 Salm, and certainly haven’t seen one with the SRD stamp.

Wasn’t Droescher an importer? Likely they bought the Salm Rock and put their own stamp on it?
Agreed but no other examples exist. This might me the last one to survive with both stamps. Of course until the next one shows up

Have seen Droesher stamped coticules, not often and not in a while. SRD imported tonnage back in the day, from everyone and everywhere. Oddly, never saw a box from one, like the Eschers and Swatys.
