My mother is making a fuss

Today I returned home with a Nivea Mild Shaving Cream and my mum went all angry about spending the money she gave me to buy something to eat on shaving stuff. She says I spend way too much money on "creams that all smell alike" , and yesterday when we went to a Solingen store I took a look at badger brushes, and today she says it's "gay". She threatens me to throw all my shaving stuff away:001_huh:
My stuff is
Razors:
Gillette 1969 Adjustable
Wilkinson Sword Classic
Gillette M3 Power Nitro
Gillette Fusion

Creams:
near empty Karo Classic /BG cream/
Karo Fresh/mentholated/
Barbon
Aro /Metro Cash and Carry brand/
Nivea Mild /the one I bought today/

Brushes:
Kiehl Solingen Boar
Flamingo /I was told it was boar in this site so I guess it's boar/

Aftershaves/at least the ones I use/:
Brut
Barbon AS
Copacabana
Denim Fire
Feroce by Tonino Lamborghini
Gillette Fusion Hydrasoothe

Cans of Goo:
Gillette Series Gel
Gillette Fusion Hydragel
:laugh::laugh::laugh:

I also plan to get a Sensor Excel... just curious of it, and Gillette Shaving Cream/those in tubes not cans/ aaand not sure what else...

Will anyone suggest methods on Shave Den Security?

shaving brushes are "gay"?

that's completely the opposite of what most people think.......

Using a shaving brush is the way old-school "real men" shaved, for cryin' out loud!

tell her to leave you alone and go make you some pancakes :mad3: If that doesn't work...maybe you really should consider moving out :001_cool:

EDIT: seriously, you should stash all your good stuff somewhere and maybe keep the Gillette Fusion, Mach 3, Hydrasmoothe, Gel, and Hydragel out on display in case she actually does toss something out....if all else fails +1 on installing lasers and hiring a ninja.

wow, that sucks.

Hide your stuff.

Or, maybe this is your wake up call. Get out of (your house, your situation, your country, etc) Your life is your own. Tell her to stop giving you food money. Say, I won't be a slave to a provider.

See ya!

Yeah I really should hire a ninja:thumbup: Anyone have problems with their mums / roommates / girlfriends / wives about shaving gear?

My wife has no clue how much product I actually own :001_cool: I'm very strategic about what I keep out on the sink....

Keep only the stuff you need out, stash the rest where she will not find it and then if you are ready plan to move out! Seriously though, would your mother prefer that you did not shave and look after yourself?

I may be getting a little cosmic here but in situations like this I turn it into a defense of my feelings. I tell my little lady that taking an advanced interest in my grooming habits, and supplies, is my way of taking care of myself and enhancing my self esteem. I end with something like "I think I'm worth this small investment, don't you think so too?"

I learned this by noting how my wife defends adding to her enormous collection of shoes and handbags. Now she doesn't even get started since she knows I'll fight fire with fire. Ahh ... domestic life!

1) Don't talk about shaving or shaving stuff to your Mom and keep your stuff in a dopp bag.

2) Move out asap.

3) If you have not done 1 or 2 what makes you think #3 will be any better.

Honestly, by most of our standards, that's not a big shaving den. I'm not sure what's actually upsetting your mother, who might even be old enough that her dad shaved with a brush, in which case, she should know that it is hardly "gay".

First thought: Store your den in an enclosed area (except the brush you used, until it's dry), and if possible, consider locking that area with a basic padlock or combination lock if the threat to throw stuff out is real.

Second thought: If your mother gives you money for food, I'm going to suggest honoring that request and spending it only on food. Maybe she just feels disrespected? Since it's her house and her money, I'm going to come down on the side of respecting her wishes--even if they don't really seem all that valid. (Key point there.) If that's your only source of income, then you'll need to figure out a way to get more.

Third thought: When she's calmer, try asking what about shaving this way really bothers her. If she's truly not familiar with it, point out the historical tie to "manly men".

Good luck!

You know you are hard-core when you spend your food money on shaving supplies.

Seriously, hide your supplies. My wife would be shocked if I ever pulled everything out at one. I have stashes hidden in many parts of the house.

I told her to make me pancakes  They should be ready in a few minutes  I guess I won't talk to her about shaving and yes, nearly all of my stuff is in the drawers and cupboards in my bathroom. Unfortunately I can't move out, seeing as I'm about to continue my education in Austria and we're all going there... guess I should grow a little older and then she'll maybe accept me being an adult/or sth like that/ individual:laugh:

:001_rolle I was going to put a little whipped cream on the edge of the plate for aesthetics but I decided it would look like shaving foam  They tasted good with jam:thumbup1:
