I got a bottle of Murray & Lanman Florida water recently as a PIF (thanks Jeff!) and I must admit I knew nothing about this brand/fragrance.
History
Turns out it has quite the history;
- using the same formula since 1808,
- in 1890 it was 'the most popular perfume in the world'
- 100 years ago it was the preferred aftershave in barbershop as cologne and aftershave,
- the list goes on....
Just think this same fragrance was in use when Thomas Jefferson was still the President of a 17-state USA.
The scent
I'm wearing it today. Applied it this morning (about 3 hours ago) and the scent is still very much there.
I find a lot of modern a/s / colognes to be too strong and overpowering...this scent is very 'clean' and light to me.
I do find it hard to describe the scent but clove/cinnamon/citrus.
Cost
It can be picked up at a lot of places for around $4 or $5 which makes this an excellent deal if you like the scent.
I can see myself using this quite often - very refreshing and clean.
Any other M&L FW fans out there....?
