Murray & Lanman Florida Water - am I the only one?

I got a bottle of Murray & Lanman Florida water recently as a PIF (thanks Jeff!) and I must admit I knew nothing about this brand/fragrance.

History
Turns out it has quite the history;
- using the same formula since 1808,
- in 1890 it was 'the most popular perfume in the world'
- 100 years ago it was the preferred aftershave in barbershop as cologne and aftershave,
- the list goes on....

Just think this same fragrance was in use when Thomas Jefferson was still the President of a 17-state USA.

The scent
I'm wearing it today. Applied it this morning (about 3 hours ago) and the scent is still very much there.
I find a lot of modern a/s / colognes to be too strong and overpowering...this scent is very 'clean' and light to me.
I do find it hard to describe the scent but clove/cinnamon/citrus.

Cost
It can be picked up at a lot of places for around $4 or $5 which makes this an excellent deal if you like the scent.

I can see myself using this quite often - very refreshing and clean.

Any other M&L FW fans out there....?
Hello?

I have the Peruvian version and I love it. Very understated but I catch whiffs of it throughout the day. You'll find a lot of FW lovers on here

Is the Peruvian version also made by M&L and I wonder if the ingredients are the same?

Happy to hear I'm not the only one...I was worried that I liked this $4 cologne way too much and something was wrong with me ;-)

Love it!!!

I use it primarily as an aftershave in the warm season. It fades quickly to such a light scent I couldn't really call it a cologne.

Wally world had it for less than $2 so I picked up 2 bottles.

It's been about 6-7 hours now since I applied it this morning and you're right the scent is pretty much gone now.
It did last a good 3-4 hours though and must say I also LOVE the scent!

I like it but my wife is not a fan. We think our dog groomer must use it on the dogs because it smells like our dogs when they are freshly groomed and it is readily available locally. It lasts a few hours for me. Try it mixed with aqua Velva-- great combo

I love the Murray & Lanman variety. My wife and I travel to Asian stores a lot, and I often pick up Liu-Shen or Butterfly Florida waters from China. Liu-Shen smells a bit like incense, and Butterfly is powdery. I like the M&L much more.

Yes, it is made by the same company. I'm not sure about the notes, but per Shoebox shave the base alcohol is fermented sugar cane vs the American ethanol version.

I have it but haven't been using it much lately because it's getting colder. I like it as a summer scent. I like it, but not enough to buy more when it's gone.
