What's new

More Stock is finally in the stores, and so is temptation

Ok - so I was at Bass Pro last week. They have a Colt M4 type carbine (carry handle top) for $1249.00. They also have a Smith and Wesson M&P flat top. I almost got the Colt right then and there. The Smith would be my second choice. I am sort of kind of regretting not having bought the Colt. Much easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission from the wife.

Temptation is worse when it's a gun under $100. $75.00 later, I ended up with a Marlin 100G.

Note to self, stop carrying cash. If you didn't have it on you, the darn thing would still be where it was. Fortunately the collection is off campus, no having to attempt to sneak it past The Lady of the Manor.

Is it wrong to be a sucker for old .22 rifles?

In the last week I have started to find 22LR on the shelves again at multiple stores in central Iowa and southern Minnesota. Quantities are still limited, but at least they are showing up. The selection has been limited to 40, 50, and 100 round boxes. There have been no real bulk packs to speak of.

Reloading supplies have increased in the last couple of weeks as well. I've been able to get some dies that I hadn't seen for a while and the supply of components has increased dramatically. More presses started showing up about a month ago, but this week I'm seeing many more and a greater variety on the shelves.

I haven't been doing any shopping for rifles, but have suddenly noticed a lot of AR uppers on the shelves as of this weekend.

Over the last 4-5 months the display cases of pistols have gradually filled up again, at least they are mostly filled. I haven't noticed any recent improvements, but there may well be an increase of back stock that I am not privy to.

Im seeing 9mm and.45acp showing back up here in NY even. I think were seeing supplies finally catch up, a little at a time. Have seen some .22lr as well (I don't need anymore of that, stocked up in high supply times a brick here a brick there).
