Merkur Long Handle HD

Hey all,
So I've looked, but can't find, info regarding the long handle Merkur HD. I live in Vancouver and the only shop I am aware of that carries the Merkur HD is out of stock and only carries the long handle. Has anyone used it, or heard about it? How does it compare to the regular HD? I decided upon the Merkur HD as my first ever DE razor. Is there a difference? Should I purchase the long handle HD, or should I scoure online for a regular HD? Thanks for any input!

Id say check west coast shaving aswell, and the prices on the site you posted are a tad high. IMO

Thanks for the tips, guys! Reading through the sites you suggested I see plenty of Merkur HD razors. My question is - what doest the 37C, 34C, etc. refer to?

Anyone with thoughts regarding the difference between the razors I asked about?

The number refers to the model. "C" simply means chrome. (G=gold)

The shave heads are identical on the 34C and 38C. They both work well if you enjoy a bit of heft in your hand. The 38C has a longer handle on it. I prefer long-handled axes myself. First of all, my hands are large, and I got accustomed to the longer handles on the Bic Sensitive disposables I used for years till I made the switch to mug-and-brush DE shaving.

Remember the rule about "no-pressure" when you start. Either one of these babies has weight enough to get the job done on its own. It's a question of preference on your part. They each give satisfactory results.
