agreed! i wish i knew then b/c i like the razor very much. it gets used less b/c of the short handle.

Same here, I like the razor but after using a longer handle, I rarely use the 34c. It is my first DE razor, though

Great razor to start with...
Only thing I would add is if he has large hands, you may want to get him something with a longer handle (someone earlier mentioned the 38C has same head, but longer handle)
I have large hands and find the 34C handle to be too short.

Thanks so much for the info . My Pop is 5'4" so his hands are pretty small.

I think so. I'm quite happy with the 34c as I'm still learning the technique. But I'd like to try the 37c once I get more skilled.

Same size and weight but a different shave. I have the 34C and G and the 37C. You’ll love it once you get around to it. Where you’ll do a three pass shave with a 34C you’ll only need two with the 37C.
