LOOKS SE blades

Being fairly new to the worls of SE shaving, I picked up a selection of different blades to try. This morning was a "LOOKS" blade in my GEM TTO.

Wow! That is the worst blade I have even used, in any razor, ever!

Normal shave is one pass WTG and one ATG. The first WTG the grain pass did some pulling but really did not appear to remove any beard. Relather and ATG pass. Pulling, skipping and little hair removal, plus two nicks on my chin.

Remove blade, relpace with GEM blade. One ATG pass and a little touch up and beautiful shave.

I don't know if I got a bum blade but after this I'm not sure I want to try another. The the QC on these blades is bad enough to let one like this through, it's bound to happen again. These blades will be relegated to use in the scraper I keep in my tool box.

The only place I know to buy these (shoeboxshaveshop) has the following to say about them:

"These budget blades fit GEM-type single-edge razors.

Made for shaving and not for lab work.

Definitely not as good as our other single edge blades but inexpensive and worth a try. If they work out for you, you save big time."

I am pretty sure the vendor knows that most people have found them to be really horrid blades, and this is further backup up by their current $.49 cents per 5 pack cost (75% off).
