Last quarter turn on slim tight, fix?

I've had this slim for a while and the last quarter turn is pretty darn tight. I can't open or close the quarter turn with wet hands and have to use a towel. My other slim and fatboys are nice and smooth, almost an even spring tension feel on the last quarter turn if you get me. It feels like it's just tightening the doors too much. It feels like it's not the whole quarter turn either, it only gets so far and is so tight that it sticks/binds. I have tried 3-in-1 oil with no success.

Any Ideas?

A background on cleaning...

The razor was inundated with scrubbing bubbles inside the tube every hour or so for about 6 hours. It was then flushed with scolding tap water while the TTO and adjustment collar were moved.

It was then placed in a mixture of scrubbing bubbles and hot water where it stayed for about 5 days with the TTO and adjust collar being moved about 4 times a day.

There was zero crud coming out by the time I was done.

Well, then I am out of ideas, but I am no expert. When I first got my Slim that last quarter turn was really difficult, but a couple of soakings in Dawn to cut the grease out was all it took. Then it worked like a champ. You fixes above don't specifically mention Dawn, but the other cleaners you used SHOULD HAVE cut through any grime. I don't know that simple Dawn would make any difference.

Alex and a couple of others on here are experts when it comes to the TTO mechanisms and the adjustable razors. Hopefully they can chime in. I think, worst case scenario, you could send if off to be replated and have someone like Dave at Restored Razors fix up the mechanism.

Hopefully someone will have an easy, less costly fix though. Good luck.

I have a similar issue with my Fatboy. When there are no blades in the razor, the 1/4 turn works fine and you can kind of feel it lock in place. It requires a bit of a firm turn. When I put a blade in it, it doesn't want to make the full 1/4 turn and I don't get that lock in place feel at the end. I don't want to try and force it because there is too much resistance and I tried to force it once with no success. The doors of the Fatboy are locked down firmly and even though I'm not able to make the full 1/4 turn lock-in and it has never slipped out of place. I know for a fact that it is clean as a whistle because I've opened it up disassembled it and reassembled it to see if I could locate the issue. It couldn't have been any cleaner. I'm just chalking it up as a quirk of this razor but it would be nice if it worked the same way with a blade in it.
